Dining Room Reveal!

So here it is- my almost complete dining room.  It still needs some touches such as runner, table setting, and curtains.  I'm having trouble picking the colors I want to use, so until I can no longer be indecisive this is how it will look for a while. The total cost of the project so far was around $150. Not too bad, I do believe.

Without further ado, I present, ... dun dun dun..... My Dining Room!

There you have it! What do you think?

Horizontal Lines~

I'm so excited to be sharing with you my first -almost complete room overhaul.  My dining room!

Here is the before:

This was a quick snap of our empty dining room when we first moved in.  Its a terrible picture as it makes the room seem extremely small, which it is not.

For a whole  year I have been threatening to put stripes in our dining room.  I love how stripes add spunk and flavor and how it can transform a room.

For my stripes I used Frog Tape.  Using a carpenters pencil I measured out my stripes.  My stripes were 11.25" wides.  I started by marking the outer most walls and worked my way in using a level to make sure my little marks were straight.  When you tape horizontal stripes you want to tape it out a special way.  The full tape width will always be on the side you are not painting.  See how my lines look like different sizes? That is because of how I taped it.  By placing only the bottom edge of your tape just above or below your marked lines (so paint covers the marks) you will ensure even lines after pulling off the tape.  I sure hope I did a good job explaining that! Let me know if you have any questions!

This was my very time painting, and I wanted to be extra careful!  Here is it all taped out~

I was very nervous using tape.  I've always heard horror stories of using blue tape and then your paint seeps under and creates a very big mess.  So before I painted I read a few tips on how to get that crisp line.
Some people recommend using the base color over the lines, but I did not do that.  I first used a credit card to make sure they were smoothed out, and then I used a slightly damp sponge to go over the lines.  Apparently Frog Tape has a special edging that reacts with paint to form a barrier to prevent seepage. By  using the damp sponge this allowed the edges to go ahead and form a barrier before I even painted.  I only had a couple little blemishes but that only required a 2 minute touch up job! Pictures to be posted soon!

Happy Two Years Hubby!

Today is our second wedding anniversary! Woo Hoo! So happy!  We have been through quite a lot this year, and  I just want to say that  my husband has been my constant rock.  Without him my world just would not be the same.  He is the strongest man I know, and I love him with every ounce of my being. Happy two years babe!

Happy Fall Ya'll

Well I am back! It has been a rough 4 months- emotionally- for me.  I have struggled to find things to write about, everyone has a totally normal mundane life right?! ;)  Lots of catching up to do!

Let's start by saying HAPPY FALL!   My absolute favorite season!

Anywho~ Lets get to that summer list!

1. The center of my emotional roller coaster- getting pregnant- a big fat negative.  Trust me folks this isn't from our lack of trying.  I've gotten poked and stuck, and prodded to no ends, and still no growing belly :(  I have been on two rounds of clomid, both of which my body isn't responding to.  My husband has been tested, and thank the heavens he is normal! As of now we both are on a strict diet, that we decided might be beneficial for me.  With PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) our hormones are all over the place, and probably have insulin resistance! Fun right?! Not so much.. Our new diet includes lean meats, little to no dairy, gluten free, organic, and processed sugar free.  It seemed to be a challenge but I found these awesome burritos at our local store, they are organic and gluten free and declicous! They are by Amys and look like this-

2. HOLIDAY WORLD - nope I didn't accidentally have cap locks on, this place DESERVES caps lock! My husband and I took my nephew back at the end of July and man oh man I will so be back! We only stayed on the water park side, but it did not disappoint! This place is great for kids, so many fun things to do that will have them sounds asleep on the way home!  You must go!

This is where my list ends, we did bits and pieces of some of them, but didn't fully complete them so cannot say they were done!

Well I shall be back this week with a variety of posts.  My husband and I have been in our home for a year now, and things are finally starting to get done! This past week I have redone our dining room, and half bath.  I have also done a few crafts here and there that I will so be showing you !  To get it started I will leave you with a little sneak peek~

Cute, Right?
