Small Re-Dos!

I have been so consumed in this whole baby thing, so I have been putting off writing a post.  A few weeks ago when I re-did the dining room, I also gave our half bath a make over!  Before it was a spring/ slime green color.  At first I didn't mind it, but over time, I just couldn't stand it any more! So it had to go! I used left over paints and mixed them together to get the shade I wanted.  I was looking for a light gray/blueish tint, and I believe I did just that.

Aren't these poppy decals the cutest! My husband and I were in Target and came across them on sale for $9.98! I've had them up for a few weeks, and they are starting to peel up a little around the edges.  I think it was my fault.  I painted, let it dry, and put these up the same day.  I was probably supposed to wait a couple days.  Oops!

I still have a few things left to do for this room.  Eventually I will need to replace the towel ring, toilet paper holder, and light.  These were all bronze finishes and I sprayed painted black. Hopefully this black Friday I can find an awesome deal on a super cute faucet!

So there you go! Happy diy-ing!

Dining Room Reveal!

So here it is- my almost complete dining room.  It still needs some touches such as runner, table setting, and curtains.  I'm having trouble picking the colors I want to use, so until I can no longer be indecisive this is how it will look for a while. The total cost of the project so far was around $150. Not too bad, I do believe.

Without further ado, I present, ... dun dun dun..... My Dining Room!

There you have it! What do you think?

Horizontal Lines~

I'm so excited to be sharing with you my first -almost complete room overhaul.  My dining room!

Here is the before:

This was a quick snap of our empty dining room when we first moved in.  Its a terrible picture as it makes the room seem extremely small, which it is not.

For a whole  year I have been threatening to put stripes in our dining room.  I love how stripes add spunk and flavor and how it can transform a room.

For my stripes I used Frog Tape.  Using a carpenters pencil I measured out my stripes.  My stripes were 11.25" wides.  I started by marking the outer most walls and worked my way in using a level to make sure my little marks were straight.  When you tape horizontal stripes you want to tape it out a special way.  The full tape width will always be on the side you are not painting.  See how my lines look like different sizes? That is because of how I taped it.  By placing only the bottom edge of your tape just above or below your marked lines (so paint covers the marks) you will ensure even lines after pulling off the tape.  I sure hope I did a good job explaining that! Let me know if you have any questions!

This was my very time painting, and I wanted to be extra careful!  Here is it all taped out~

I was very nervous using tape.  I've always heard horror stories of using blue tape and then your paint seeps under and creates a very big mess.  So before I painted I read a few tips on how to get that crisp line.
Some people recommend using the base color over the lines, but I did not do that.  I first used a credit card to make sure they were smoothed out, and then I used a slightly damp sponge to go over the lines.  Apparently Frog Tape has a special edging that reacts with paint to form a barrier to prevent seepage. By  using the damp sponge this allowed the edges to go ahead and form a barrier before I even painted.  I only had a couple little blemishes but that only required a 2 minute touch up job! Pictures to be posted soon!

Happy Two Years Hubby!

Today is our second wedding anniversary! Woo Hoo! So happy!  We have been through quite a lot this year, and  I just want to say that  my husband has been my constant rock.  Without him my world just would not be the same.  He is the strongest man I know, and I love him with every ounce of my being. Happy two years babe!

Happy Fall Ya'll

Well I am back! It has been a rough 4 months- emotionally- for me.  I have struggled to find things to write about, everyone has a totally normal mundane life right?! ;)  Lots of catching up to do!

Let's start by saying HAPPY FALL!   My absolute favorite season!

Anywho~ Lets get to that summer list!

1. The center of my emotional roller coaster- getting pregnant- a big fat negative.  Trust me folks this isn't from our lack of trying.  I've gotten poked and stuck, and prodded to no ends, and still no growing belly :(  I have been on two rounds of clomid, both of which my body isn't responding to.  My husband has been tested, and thank the heavens he is normal! As of now we both are on a strict diet, that we decided might be beneficial for me.  With PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) our hormones are all over the place, and probably have insulin resistance! Fun right?! Not so much.. Our new diet includes lean meats, little to no dairy, gluten free, organic, and processed sugar free.  It seemed to be a challenge but I found these awesome burritos at our local store, they are organic and gluten free and declicous! They are by Amys and look like this-

2. HOLIDAY WORLD - nope I didn't accidentally have cap locks on, this place DESERVES caps lock! My husband and I took my nephew back at the end of July and man oh man I will so be back! We only stayed on the water park side, but it did not disappoint! This place is great for kids, so many fun things to do that will have them sounds asleep on the way home!  You must go!

This is where my list ends, we did bits and pieces of some of them, but didn't fully complete them so cannot say they were done!

Well I shall be back this week with a variety of posts.  My husband and I have been in our home for a year now, and things are finally starting to get done! This past week I have redone our dining room, and half bath.  I have also done a few crafts here and there that I will so be showing you !  To get it started I will leave you with a little sneak peek~

Cute, Right?

My Bucket List!

Happy Summer! I hope everyone had an excellent Memorial Day.  Thank you to all who have served, will serve, or have thought about serving.  You're service is greatly appreciated!

I don't know about you, but I have very few plans for this summer! Therefore I have made a summer bucket list! Let's hope they all get crossed off!

1.  Get Pregnant! Hubby and I have been ttc for 6 months! Just found out I have PCOS, which explains all the infertility issues we are having! I did just find an all natural, new product called Pregnitude (formally called Inofolic in Europe).  I have been taking it for about 2 weeks, and it really seems to be working its magic! Look it up people, its pretty awesome! It comes in a powdered form, no prescription required, virtually no sight effects.  You mix 1 packet with 8 oz of water, twice daily.  Has absolutely no taste at all!  So far I have noticed a decrease in my usually large levels of lh, and a reduction of blemishes.  Make sure you tell all your women friends.  Now go on.. Shoo! Go tell them! Well after you finish reading this post ;)

2.  Go to Holiday World in Santa Claus, Indiana!  The hubs and I  LOVE  water slides.  Here in TN we get commercials for this place, we have never been, but it looks freaking amazing! Anyone got any tips for us?  Supposedly they give free sunscreen, but we thought about bringing our own aerosol kind.

3.  Sit out on our back porch and watch the lightning bugs (fireflies) in the field behind our house.  There is something so magical about watching their luminous bodies flicker and glow from a distance.  It seems like something straight out of a fairy tale, and makes you want throw a party with everyone dancing and having an enchanted time!  This is how I picture it!

4. Take our friends to our neighborhood pool for the entire day and finish with an incredibly delicious cook out!

5. Go visit our family in Indiana! We go every year, its in a beautiful setting right on lake.  Bucket list while there would include: Play Frisbee with the hubby, Go fishing, and take our dog for a long rejuvenating walk.  We found an incredible Frisbee called the Aerobie Pro Flying Ring.  We bought it from amazon and boy will it fly! Just with a small flick of the wrist its gone.  So far we've thrown it into the neighbors yard, into the road, almost on the roof, and hit the foundation of a neighbors house! Good thing they weren't home! Ssh!

6.  Throw an overly patriotic 4th of July party and celebrate our hearts out! I'm talking about full on decorating.  This does include going to our local target, buying every cheap flag they can order, taking them home and using them like a javelin and spearing the crap out of our whole front yard with them! Bazinga! Just kidding, but that would be fun!  (What? You don't like my Big Bang reference?!)

7. If I do not fall pregnant this month, I must make this - Strawberry Lemonade Vodka! It looks so delicious, and would be the perfect marriage to the end of a wonderful day! (Well, even if I do fall pregnant, our friends would love this!)

So far this seems to be all I can come up with.  Of course I can come up with 100 more, but I want them to be obtainable. Now go have yourself an incredibly amazing day, finished with this drink of course!

Until next time! Ciao my lovelies!

Summer Eye Candy!

This is our first summer in our home.  We have been here since September, and have anxiously awaited the warmer months, to discover napping plants, and to grow our own.  Here are a few snap shots of our favorite plants so far~

Gorgeous Hydrangeas that were already living here before we were

Beautiful Queen of Sweden, David Austin  Garden Roses.  Absolutely stunning and the scent is just as beautiful! We planted these~

Perfect little cup shapes!

Our very first tiny tomato growing!  We absolutely love our tomatoes here in the south, and we can't wait until all 3 plants are in full swing!  (Sorry for the bad quality picture!)

Our little slice of heaven~ Hibiscus! We loved seeing these on our honeymoon in Hawaii, now we have  some Aloha at home!

That's all the eye candy I have to share at the moment, but rest assured I'll be back with more!  Have a fabulous Thursday!
